In today's headlines:
  • Mason County Commissioners voiced support for converting a sheriff's deputy position to lieutenant and reviewed a proposed $4 million package of HVAC and efficiency upgrades for the county jail, the top utility user at about $44,000 a year.
  • State Parks begins replacing mooring buoy anchors at several locations, including sites here in Mason County, starting July 16th.
  • Tree-trimming crews will be working State Route 3 between mileposts 19 and 20 this week, with alternating traffic in the area.
  • Warm today with an expected high of 86, though a change in the forecast could bring rain by Thursday.
