In today's headlines:
- Port of Shelton Commissioner Dale Elmland has resigned from his Position 1 seat effective April 22, citing family needs and a permanent relocation out of state.
- The Port Commission accepted the resignation Tuesday and will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday to begin accepting letters of interest from Port District residents to fill the remainder of the term through December 31, 2027.
- Commissioners have 90 days to make the appointment, with Port Attorney Skip Houser walking the board through the process.
- Mostly sunny skies with a high around 65, and ten days of beautiful weather in the extended forecast.
In local sports: The Mariners are back in action on the road in St. Louis taking on the Cardinals, with George Kirby getting the start — 4 o'clock pregame and 5:15 first pitch on KMAS. A tough Thursday for Mason County diamond teams: Shelton baseball fell 3-0 at Tumwater, where T-Birds pitcher Luke Overbay threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts and allowed just one hit — to Jacob Jacoby — dropping the High Climbers to 9-5; North Mason baseball lost 7-3 at Bremerton; and North Mason softball dropped a 2-1 decision at Port Angeles. On today's schedule, Aberdeen at Shelton baseball at 4:30 on Mason Web TV, boys soccer with Aberdeen at Shelton and Bremerton at North Mason both at 7, plus girls tennis, track and field, golf, and softball around the county.
